MARKHA VALLEY TREK
The Markha Valley trek is the most popular trekking route in Ladakh. Markha Valley trek is an easy trek. The trek focuses on the monasteries, monks, landscapes etc. The trek starts from Spituk bridge and you trek along the Indus river walking through the foot of the Stok mountain.

Leh-Spituk-Zingchen about 5 hours Drive
After breakfast we drive to Spituk which is 7km from Leh. From Spituk we start trekking along Indus River to the foot of Stok Mountain. Leaving the busy Leh-Srinagar highway you move towards wilderness. You will soon arrive Zingchen through a gorge. Zingchen will gives you a feeling of complete isolation. We camp overnight at Zinchen.
Zingchen to Yurutse (trek for 4 to 5 hours)
Today we Leave Zingchen for Rumbak through narrow valley and enter Hemis national park. Hemis National Park was founded for the preservation of the wildlife of Ladakh. We stop at Rumbak for Lunch after lunch we Walk to Yurutse and Camp there. Overnight in Camp.
Yurutse to Skyu (Trek for 6-7 hours)
Today After Breakfast we trek from Yurutse to Skyu via Gandala pass (4380m). After you Cross Gandala we will walk the slops down hill to Skyu. On our way we will stop at Shingo for Lunch and continue our walk Down Hill to long descent towards Shingo for 2 hrs that will lead to the valley of Markha and after few hundred meters you reach Skyu. Overnight halt in tents.
Sku to Markha 7-8 hours
From Skyu, follow a good path on the right bank of Markha where one can find great vegetation. Then cross the right bank of river then the barren plain and arrive at Chaluk. Thereafter, walk along the left bank of river and after another crossing climb towards Markha village. Towards the end of the village there are good camp site near the river. Overnight stay in tents.
Markha to Thachungtse 5-6 hours
After breakfast you start trekking towards Tchatchutse through Hankar village. Overnight stay in camp at Tchatchutse.
Thachungtse to Nimaling 4-5 hours
After breakfast we start trek towards Nimaling. Nimaling (4900 M) is famously known for the fresh pasture where thousands of sheep, goats and yaks graze during this time of the year. Overnight stay in camp at Nimaling.
Nimaling to Shang Sumdo 6-7 hours
After breakfast we start trekking to Kongmaru La (5100 M). We trek to Kongmaru la pass through a narrow gorges once you reach the top of the, you can have a see the Ladakh ranges and the villages north of Indus valley. We stop for few minutes at the pass and trek to Shang. Overnight in camp at Shang.
Shang Sumdo to Hemis to Leh 6 hours
After Breakfast we walk down to Hemis monastery. Spend some time and visit Hemis monastery and drive back to Leh. On our way back we visit Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace and Stok Palace.
