Setting of from Manali on our 11 nights 12 days trip, we begin with fascinating drive to Rohtang La and along the Chandra River to Keylong and Jispa. We follow Bhaga River to its source at Baralacha la during summer, numbers of nomadic shepherds makes settlement. Crossing over the pass we follow the Tsarap river valley and continue to Phirtse La. The pass is often by shepherds this valley has variety of colorful rock formation. The most spectacular sight to this trek is to visit the monastery at Phuktal, which is built under a huge cave.  Our final stage will take us to Kargyak – the last village of Zanskar and trek below the Gomborangjum peak and cross high pass of Shingo La. Our trek terminates at Palamo, where our vehicle will pick us to last fascinating drive along the Bhaga and Chandra river valleys.

Day 08: Trek to Phirtse la (5450m) – Zingchen.
